Tangram put together this “2021 Perception Sensor Industry Map”, with 75 companies. Note that Tangram itself focuses on vision, and the tagline for the map is “vision-enabled platforms.”
Lidar has gotten lots of attention in the past few years, and the combination of the scanning and flash lidar sections is the largest on the map.
I’m curious about sensors that get less attention, such as ultrasonic, thermal, and even radar.
I confess I’m not even sure what “CMOS” means in this context. CMOS is a type of integrated circuit, but I don’t know how that ties into perception sensors.
