- Flux Auto is on this list of Top Indian Self-Driving Startups To Watch Out For In 2021. They are Udacity graduates!
- Lockheed Martin and GM are bidding together on a NASA contract to build a moon rover. “Mobility is really going to open up the moon for us.”
- Kodiak is exploring self-driving trucks in Asia. I wrote earlier about the North American Class 8 truck market, which is controlled by four manufacturers, each of whom has picked a self-driving partner. Kodiak isn’t on that list, so looking outside North America is logical.
- SberAutoTech, the automotive arm of a Russia’s state-owned Sberbank, is building a self-driving vehicle. I’m tempted to overlook this as yet another concept car. But Yandex has quietly accumulated (or at least announced) more autonomous miles than any other autonomous vehicle company save Waymo. In my mind, that gives Russian companies more credibility, at least by osmosis.
